About Us

Lisa I. Fried-Grodin, Esq.

Meet Lisa Fried-Grodin, Esq.

Workplace change is constant, which can make it stressful to make the right decisions with the best outcomes. Lisa works with employees and employers in New Jersey and New York to help them identify the best path forward and craft a plan to get them there.

Lisa is passionate about giving employees who have experienced discrimination, harassment and retaliation a voice and an action plan, for guiding small to mid-sized, growing businesses on the right path, and for investigating and mediating workplace disputes. She provides a calm, empathetic, practical approach and works closely with clients to understand their goals and develop the best strategy for them. When litigation is necessary, Lisa is known by her adversaries to be a tenacious attorney and a formidable, effective opponent.

Lisa represents clients in litigation and also provides employment law services to address situations successfully without litigation, including matters involving discipline and termination, sexual harassment, discrimination, medical and family leaves, whistleblower/retaliation, wage and hour requirements, compensation issues, employee classification issues (exempt and nonexempt employee status and contractor and employee status), employment agreements, separation agreements and workplace policies. Her many years representing employers and employees makes her uniquely qualified to see the whole picture.

Lisa has been practicing law since 2002, always as an employment attorney.

She also utilizes her years of experience representing employees and employers in her work as a neutral mediator and investigator of workplace matters. She is a member of the Association of Workplace Investigators and a mediator on the New Jersey Court system’s mediator roster.

Prior to starting Fried-Grodin Employment Law, she was a partner at Meyers Fried-Grodin LLP, a firm she co-founded, and where she helped hundreds of clients for 11 years. Earlier in her legal career, she worked as an employment lawyer for Fox Rothschild and Grotta, Glassman & Hoffman. Before becoming an attorney, Lisa was a business journalist and editor writing articles for numerous publications, including the New York Law Journal, The National Law Journal, New York Newsday, the American Management Association’s Management Review, and several trade magazines for the retail, travel and media industries.
